Stuart Kaufman

 

Mr. Kaufman is a retired lawyer, businessman and entrepreneur.  Until he closed the office in December, 2005, Mr. Kaufman was principal of Management Recruiters of Great Neck, specializing in recruiting lawyers, real estate and environmental professionals.  Immediately before establishing Management Recruiters of Great Neck, Mr. Kaufman served as Director of Environmental Acquisitions for a major redeveloper of environmentally distressed properties.

In 2002, Mr. Kaufman was one of the founders of Fortress Global Investigations (www.fortressglobal.com), an international investigations and security consulting firm.  After closing Management Recruiters, Mr. Kaufman served as Fortress Global’s Executive Vice President for business development.

Mr. Kaufman is a former principal of the law firm of Fisch & Kaufman, P.C. and, prior to forming his own firm, he was with the law firm of Whitman & Ransom.  Before that he was Senior Vice President of E.F. Hutton Properties where he provided environmental and real estate advisory services to Hutton clients and to other groups within Hutton.

He also served as Vice President of Security Pacific Reality Advisory Services (SPRAS) and its predecessor, Howard P. Hoffman Associates, a real estate consulting firm whose purpose was to maximize the values of corporate surplus or under-utilized properties.  At SPRAS Mr. Kaufman directed numerous projects for clients involving the development of large parcels of land, and the redevelopment, packaging and marketing of vacant buildings.

In the 1970’s, Mr. Kaufman was Environmental Counsel to American Electric Power Company, and Director of Environmental Affairs of Gulf + Western Industries’ Natural Resources Group.

Mr. Kaufman holds a B.A. from New York University and a J.D. from The George Washington University.  In addition, in 1969 he was one of the first recipients in the country of an LL.M. degree in Environmental Law, having been involved at The George Washington University in the creation of one of the first such graduate programs in the United States.  He is now retired and spends his time on a variety of projects to combat political Islam, and in support of the State of Israel, and riding his Harley.
