May 10th 2011: During Israel Apartheid Week at the University of California, Irvine, Amir Mertaban, former president the Muslim Students Association (West), a designated Muslim Brotherhood front organization as documented in the Holy Land Foundation Trial, was asked in the Q&A portion of his lecture a simple and straight forward question,

“Do you support HAMAS, yes or no?”

Thus ensued a one minute and fifteen second tactic of misdirection and subterfuge with Mertaban stating, “That’s a loaded question” and “I refuse to answer that question.”

Not a hard question when one considers that both US presidents George W. Bush and William Jefferson Clinton, the State Department, Australia, the EU, the UK, Russia, Japan, Switzerland, Israel and Canada all list HAMAS as a terrorist organization/group.

Moreover, the HAMAS’ Official Charter States:

“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”

“There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.”

And quoting the Koran, HAMAS adds, in their official charter:

“The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.”

And for those who may be skeptical on who or what HAMAS is, they clear up that matter by stating, once again, in their official charter:

“The Islamic Resistance Movement is one of the wings of Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine. Muslim Brotherhood Movement is a universal organization which constitutes the largest Islamic movement in modern times. It is characterized by its deep understanding, accurate comprehension and its complete embrace of all Islamic concepts of all aspects of life, culture, creed, politics, economics, education, society, justice and judgment, the spreading of Islam, education, art, information, science of the occult and conversion to Islam.”

Understanding that HAMAS was founded by the Muslim Brotherhood and that HAMAS’ educational objective (above) are one in the same, it is not hard to understand why and how individuals such as Amir Mertaban are infiltrating our universities and colleges today. And worse yet, our colleges and universities are not only encouraging the Amirs on campus but actively supporting and funding their anti-Israel hate filled agenda with your tax dollars.

But support for individuals like Amir doesn’t just end in our University system. The HAMAS/MB tentacles reach out to LA County Law enforcement and, here will be a real shocker, the Islamic Society of Southern California (ICSC). And it is here we have an organization founded by two brothers, Hassan & Maher Hathout, who had close and well-documented ties to the MB. As Hassan Hathout recounted in his memoirs:

“My teacher was a student at the time. His name was Hassan al Banna….I believe he is a unique type of person. Centuries might roll over before a similar personality is produced. I think that the person who most influenced my life was that teacher.”

So why is the question “Do you support HAMAS?” so difficult for Amir to answer? To you and me this question is a softball. But if one looks at it from Amir’s perspective this is indeed a most difficult conundrum.

According to Pew research, 25% of Muslim students support suicide bombings.  And when Pew asked Egyptian Muslims (where many of these students originate), “Do you support HAMAS?” nearly half answered in the affirmative. And if these Pew numbers are accurate, which may be low when one considers the hesitancy of Muslims like Amir to answer such questions, then this would indeed be, as Amir so eloquently stated, “a loaded question.”

But don’t worry about people like Amir. I’m sure he’s just good ole salt of the earth, apple pie, red, white, and blue just like you and me. I’m sure he was just kidding around on his blog when he wrote about this video the following post:

“You should really be afraid of what God has in store for people who lie and spread corruption,” he wrote. “The Day of Judgment is near and you should really contemplate your actions before spewing hatred, lies and gossip about others!”

But then again, the Muslim Brotherhood’s motto, which was written by founder Hassan al-Banna, the same al-Banna idolized by the Islamic Center of Southern California’s co-founder mentioned above, remains to this day:

“Allah is our objective, the Prophet is our leader, the Koran is our law, Jihad is our way, and dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope. Allahu akbar!”
